East. When Eastern and Western wages have equalized and it is

we again see signficant income growth. Of course by then, we
may be living in huts! Millions of workers throughout the West will
slowly see their living standards diminish as globalization continues
to intensify.
There seems to be no shortage of skilled workers in low-wage countries
giving corporations the ability to contain labor costs by relocating
operations, outsourcing, or even importing workers with work visas.
Inflation may very well outpace income growth for many years to come.
Surviving and thriving in this new environment of wage stagnation means
starting your own business and creating a new revenue stream.

adapting to emerging market trends, making them perfectly suited for
the global marketplace. Global competition increases the need to lower
costs through outsourcing, while also creating an unprecedented number

But while globalization is forcing larger companies to cut payrolls,
small businesses are booming and now produce the largest percentage of
new job growth in the U.S. A company may try to cut expenses by
eliminating a position internally, but the work still needs to be
performed, creating unprecedented opportunities for small business
owners. The unprecedented opportunities for ambitious small business
owners will continue to increase in the foreseeable future.
Growing any size of business requires capital investment. Hard economic
times tend to coincide with low interest rates and great opportunities
for small business owners to secure cheap capital. With the US economy
in turmoil and causing problems in markets around the world, this
