Why Start a Home Based Small Business.

At the dawn of the new millennium we find ourselves in a completely new economic landscape where having a work from home business may be the only way to avoid starving! Companies are eliminating benefits left and right, forcing employees to shell out a larger amount of their income for the same standard of living.

The best white and blue collar jobs seem to be disappearing before our very eyes as the true costs of outsourcing begin to materialize in the form of higher unemployment rates. Real income growth has been almost non-existent over the past few years due in large part to corporations using cheap labor sources in Asia.

Indeed the cards are now stacked against the average worker with little to no chance of getting ahead by working for the very corporations who are propelling globalization forward. In the end, the best way to contend with the forces of globalization is honestly to start a work from home business. There are five reasons why 2008 is the perfect year:

1.  Little to No Income Growth Expected in Foreseeable Future
2.  Small, Innovative Companies Do Great In Global Economy
3.  Interest Rates
4.  Never Been More Opportunities
5.  You Are In Control of Your Own Financial Future

Stagnant wage growth is not only here to stay--it will likely be followed by falling incomes next! And we can't expect the forces of globalization to disappear any time soon--in fact, they will likely intensify and make things progressively more difficult for Western workers in the near future. Developing nations are supplying more and more skilled, low-wage labor making it easier and easier for companies to outsource and relocate operations in order to save on labor costs.

Our generation could well become the first to truly see our standard of living diminish throughout our lives.  Have we really seen the best days already? Identifying and then operating profitable work from home business opportunities is the best way to supplement your income and significantly enhance lifestyle in this competitive world market.

Specialized work from home businesses can dominate niches while rapidly adapting to emerging market trends, making them perfectly suited for the global marketplace. Companies are now in a mad rush to merge or acquire other companies in a bid to become dominant in the new global market.  This, along with outsourcing itself, has created a ton of work from home business opportunities for dedicated individuals.

But while globalization is forcing larger companies to cut payrolls, small businesses are booming and now produce the largest percentage of new job growth in the U.S. Jobs that are eliminated internally still need to be filled, and this is where so many of the small business opportunities are coming from. Smaller work from home businesses will continue to thrive as competition intensifies.  But it is important to take advantage of these opportunities before they disappear.

Investment on some level is required to successfully launch any business. Commonly, governments will lower interest rates in order to stimulate investment during harsh economic times.  This creates a prime opportunity for small business owners to secure necessary capital. A weakened American economy has caused economic troubles around the planet leading to lower interest rates and a prime time to secure some cheap capital for a worthwhile new business start-up.

The Internet has helped intensify globalization, but it is also creating more small business opportunities than ever before. Opportunities are definitely abound on the Internet, but it is also filled with a lot of people and businesses selling little more than hope. Despite the challenges, there is no question that the legitimate opportunities are out there in record numbers.

Owning a small business was once a luxury of the ambitious, daring, or perhaps just those who hated corporate life.  Nowadays, having your own business is a practical necessity. The pressures of globalization will only cause outsourcing and job flight to intensify causing more and more of us to consider starting our own business or working in some service industry job for less money.

But success is a fickle creature and no fewer than 50% of small businesses fail within the first 3 years. Hard work, long hours, dedication, and patience are all necessary ingredients to making a small business succeed. And even after all that, a business can still fail to really take off and prosper. Avoiding illegitimate opportunities and choosing viable ones is often the key ingredient in determining the overall success or failure of any work from home business.
